CNC bogs down with new spindle, what adjustments can I try

I just upgraded my CNC to a 2.2KW water cooled spindle that's significantly heavier than my old router. Yesterday I tried my first test cut by surfacing my spoil board and it was a complete fail, when it changed direction it would jam up and stop moving. I think I need to make an adjustment to the Acceleration so it can ease up to speed, but I'm not sure what to adjust. Right now the Velocity is 400.02 and the Acceleration is at 4. I was running the spindle at 12,000 rpm an my speed set at 50ipm and it jammed up cutting about .125" depth with a 1" new surfacing bit. Since the new spindle is heavier what can I try to make it work? thank you!

I was just chatting with a guy that suggest I can run a higher Volt power supply and get better torque. I currently have a 36V, does it sound reasonable to upgrade?
