Hi All
Could some one tell me how i set the differance for work zero and touch plate zero
other than manually working it out each time
ie probe work =distance 1
probe touch plate =distance 2
D1 take away D2 = offset
then when I change tool tool over touch plate lower tool automatically zeros tool on touch plate adds the offset
Thanks for your help
Andrew

Terry (Vmax549) wrote a very nice tool offset macro/screen set for me a while back. It has a gauge block DRO. I use it all the time. Not sure if it will work with newer versions since it has custom screens.

I just touch the current tool to the plate, and store that position in a var.
Then, you probe the new tool to the plate, and set Z to the value stored in the var.

The one Terry wrote for me has a tool number DRO as well. You put the tool number you are setting in the DRO, click on set tool and it writes that offset to the tool table, saves the tool table, and applies the G43 H#.

Hi thanks for the replys
I really need something like the gauge block but mounted on the table as a lot of the time i cant reset my next tool of work zero because it been machined away Id been using a electronic tool height setter use a master tool (normally my touch probe) probe down to work zero go over to touch plat probe down store the difference and each time M6 is run it touches the tool down and adds or subtracts the work offset to the touch plate Im sure theres a way to do it but its like most things I'm used to mach 3 with a custom probing setup and it takes time to find your way round a new system i had hoped to still use mach 3 with the uc 100 dut it asked for a firmware up date and didnt want to do that every time i changed
I like the uccnc software its been no problem to setup and as i get used to it im sure ill find the short cuts i need just hope i dont annoy to many people asking stupid questions
Thanks for your help
Andrew

I'll have a new screen available in the next few weeks with this feature included, like in my Mach3 2010 Screenset.

I was looking at using G92 in a macro to store the offset but it would take me a lot longer than a couple of weeks and probably not work so i think I will wait
Thanks Andrew
