very strange thing i have noticed .

maybe something the programmers want to look at ...

on my control panel i have a switch to turn off the vfd so i can just run the machine
with my probe without fear of the spindle coming on for no known reason .
handy when probing as there is no fear of wrapping up the cord .

well it has yet to lockup the software with the vfd powered on .

but if i turn off vfd the program randomly locks up . mostly i notice when loading a gcode file
and moving around in it looking around . but it happens other places as well just not as often .

Seems like an odd coincidence, I would doubt there is a real interaction between your VFD and UCCNC not responding. If the ethernet connection is lost, UCCNC will close, but will warn first with a popup.

What video card is in your computer, if it is while you are viewing and spinning around the view port, maybe it is video driver/card related.

When you say you have it enabled, do you also have it set to 'show on startup' so you get the plugin to show, or are you leaving it enabled in the background but not using it or showing it?

Please disable ProbeIt in the plugins menu, and verify if your problem is still there or not. I'm still fixing some bugs in ProbeIt, but if you're not using it actively, it should not be crashing UCCNC in any way. If your actively using ProbeIt and it stops responding, let me know please, shoot me an email or use the ProbeIt thread in the plugins part of forum.

Now when. You says ethernet connection breaks .
The hardwire to the wireless nid is never broken .

But from the wireless .nid to the house is kinda sporadic sometimes .
But that's just for internet . They should be able to talk with each other
Through the switch in the shed . At least I hope the ethernet connection is not
That pickey.

I have probeit enabled and checked to open when. Uccnc opens.
I close it when. Uccnc opens .

I use it for finding my edges so I really don't see how I could disable
As you have to close uccnc and repoen each time to enable and disable .

Are you using a plugin to control the VFD?
If not, then UCCNC would have no idea whether your VFD was on or off, and I'd suspect some kind of electrical noise issue to be the problem.

Brian,

I already suggested to 'disable' ProbeIt and verify if it does or does not have anything to do w/ your issue. Did you do this to help do any trouble shooting? CNCDrive can't and should not be expected to help trouble shoot if any 3rd party plugins are the issue. Based on your description of what happens, I don't think ProbeIt is doing it, but please disable it, run your machine and do all the same things that caused a crash and verify if it does or doesn't crash with ProbeIt disabled. Shouldn't take long to do and will answer a question. That's how troubleshooting with help from a forum works, we can't be there and see what happens, you have to do it and tell us what happened.

If you disable ProbeIt and you still have issues that you can pin point to the VFD being on or off, then again that is some really oddball kind of electrical noise or wiring issue as Gerry pointed out, and CNCDrive won't be able to help much with that either. But with the info you provide, maybe we can help figure it out.
