Coming from Mach 3

Hi all
Im a new user coming from Mach 3 and there are a few things i think i might miss so looking for guidence been using mach for about 10 years

I have newfangled wizards is there anything similar for uccnc

I also have a probing screen set and wondered if the is something like it Im not against macros ect if thats whats needed

But that's something I will have to learn so a suggestion of a good resource for learning would be good

I have used some of the newfangled wizards, from mach3, and used than in UCCNC after very minor corrections in the g code that where not supported.
UCCNC does ignore unsupported code so it seems to work. Bob

Afaik, there aren't currently any available 3rd party add-ons available for UCCNC.
I'm working on a new screen that will provide similar functionality to my Mach3 2010 Screenset, and hope to release it in a month or two.


There are a few basic utilities in the Toolbox section f the forum here. viewforum.php?f=15

As UCCNC continues to mature, you'll probably see more in the future.

As for learning, start by reading everything in the \UCCNC\Documentation\ folder, and look through the default macro's. You can always ask questions here, as well.

Macro Wizards are basicly macros which could work already, but we still in the process of making some development and discussion with Terry to make the MacroWizards easy to install and maintain for the users.
Will get to finalising the details with Terry soon and then there will be some nice macrowizards available.

Must admit there is quite a few things i really like with the uccnc and not in any real hurry and there is always work round

I like the idea of tying the licence to the hardware

I found it easy to set up but the spindle is proving troublesome as mine is controled by step/direction
with 8 different pulley speeds with an index signal on the intermediate drive so experimenting to get set speed and actual speed is being a pain but ill get there in the end
