Hi support/ all

I have an unbranded 6040 cnc that was running mach3. I replaced the controller/breakout board with the AXBB and managed to setup correctly all the steppers. However i cannot get the spindle to spin from UCCNC, probably i am not connecting it correctly

Please see attached images. My VFD had the following connected with the old controller which i now plugged to the AXBB

AV1 -> A01
+10v -> 5V+ (i removed the jumper)
COM -> 24V0
FWD -> Port 1 02

Inside the UCCNC i specified PWM spindle and pin 2 port 1. The spindle will not start when i press the equivalent button in UCCNC.
However if in the setting PWM min duty i put a number (e.g. 30%) then the spindle will start rotating at the min speed uncontrollably (start stop is steel not working).

The VFD is PRT-E1500W and i tend to believe that the software settings are correct to accept input from the PC.

Anyone here had such experience?

Hopefully you didn't kill your AXBB with this connection: +10v -> 5V+ (i removed the jumper). The 5V+ output and the +10V on the VFD are outputs! Never connect them! You need only the COM and AV1. O2 connects to 24V0 if turned on, so check the VFD if it needs the input to ground. I couldn't find any info on this VFD.

+10v -> 5V+ (i removed the jumper): one more thing. Check the output of the AXBB when the spindle is set to max. RPM. If it is only 5V then replace the jumper.

You have to set the max. RPM in config and type Snnn (where nnn is the max. RPM.) Without this it will start only on a very low RPM.

Ouch... yes, that's not right. See my recent post about the 6040 upgrade in this thread....

Hope it helps. If you have any questions let me know.

Regards,
Ken

Sorry, the post was for my 6090 not 6040 as I said. "Upgraded 6090 to AXBB-e need help with VFD" is the post that has the information you need.

The VFD and everything else is exactly the same as yours, just the bed is larger. Mine is working perfectly with the AXBB-e and the new drivers. Good luck with yours!
