Laser and Spindle M3

I have an AXBB-E with UCSB, I have the spindle on the analogue AO1 output for speed control, turning the spindle CW and CCW, Port 3 (UCSB) output 6 and 7. I also have a laser on Port 3 output 17 to control power. I have to use M3 to turn on either the the laser or spindle. I have the spindle setup with a minimum speed so if I want to use the laser the spindle also turns on. Is there a way of separating the M3 command or having a different process to activate either the Spindle or laser. I have used different profiles in the past but sometimes I would like to use both in a single profile session.
