Tool offset vs Softlimit

Postby Pulcik » Thu Jan 20, 2022 12:32 am

Hi guys,

I have a question for you. I am thinking, to limit my CNC Router not to cut in table if something goes wrong. So, I think about to set the Z Softlimit to certainty height.
But, I have ATC and tool list with tool offsets of course.

My question is, will the tool offsets affect the Softlimit in a way, so the tool doesn't bite to the table if tool is changed?
Or, if the Tool offsets does not affect Softlimits, is there a way to make this such a safety feature?

Cheers,
Martin

I tested if the tool offset affect the Softlimit, and it is not.

My question is. Is there a way how to achieve such a safety feature?
I still thinking about something, what works like Softlimit, but takes tool offsets in consideration.

You could probably do it in a macroloop.
