AXBB-E relays and not isolated outputs

Postby hawlik » Sun Feb 14, 2021 1:15 pm

Hi,
I have a few 5V relays boards (similar to this one) but as they require 5V they cannot be used with isolated outputs of my AXBB without additional 5V power supply.

So the question is, is there any risk or disadvantage in connecting relays to non isolated output assuming that relays board has optocouplers on the inputs?

These boards are isolated and need 0V on the inputs to turn on the relais, so you can use them with both the isolated and non-isolated outputs. The non-isolated outputs have to be set activel low.

Just one more question regarding non isolated outputs.

Is there any diferents between using 0/5V from board port1/port3 terminals or connecting directly to the 5/0V of power supply?

When connecying relays or more general e.g. motor drivers?
