AXBB E- connection lost

Postby Zdenko » Sat Nov 28, 2020 6:29 pm

Hello all,

Please assist, machine has been working for a few months now with no problems, nothing was changed in setup and I started having issues from yesterday.

I think due windows 10 update UCCNC frozen when the machine was running, and after 300lines it stoped. I restarted the PC and zeroed the machine again and started machining, after 3 minutes the same thing happened UCCNC froze.

I reinstalled windows to windows 7 Ultimate 64bit now, but I have problems connecting with AXBB-E, I see the controller with UCXXX 1.8 I can even change IP address and all regarding that is working fine, but when I start UCCNC some times it does not come/load to the main screen (UI) and I get information that controller lost connection with the program... some times it comes all the way to UI but after 5-15sec controller again loses connection with the software.

I tried a few versions of software from this forum and official web page, there were even some firmware updates when I started these versions (2 times), but no help... I cant make AXBB-E stay connected to the software.

Please help, I don't know what to do anymore.

Best regards,

Zenko

Verify your 5Volts power supply Voltage, the power supply might went bad and the fluctating Voltage can be the problem.
The AXBB-E is sensitive to that, the 5V Voltage must be stable.

Hello,

So new day new tests.

My setup for reference before it was put on the machine.

Capture.JPG

Tests were done in next conditions:

All Power supplies for drivers are OFF
Inverter is OFF
Fuses for 24V and 5V are ON
Voltages are stable
Fresh Windows 7 64bit
Direct connection PC - AXBBE
Network adapter IP set to 10.10.10.10 , 255.255.255.0
AXBBE DHCP OFF, IP 10.10.10.11 , 255.255.255.0 , Gateway 10.10.10.10
UCCNC fresh install and default Profile, a test was done on V1.2111 and V1.2112
License copied to UCCNC installation folder

Case:1
*Starting UCCNC*
The blue light on AXBBE is on when UCCNC is loading to 100%
Loading to 100% finished
UI shows up
Blue light turns off
ARBBe error, controller disconnects from UCCNC

Case:2
*Starting UCCNC*
The blue light on AXBBE is on when UCCNC is loading to 100%
Loading to 100% finished
Blue light turns off
UI does not show up
ARBBe error, controller disconnects from UCCNC

Pain.

Could you, please, make a better photo of this area? I cannot see the cables... (I'm missing some.)

Hello,

@dezsoe, what are you interested in? I can't take a better photo at the moment.

New Status:
Reinstalled to Windows 10 again, IP setup and all connections are the same as from the first day few months ago...and everything is working fine, I started one simple 15min program, no problem...but what is going on with Windows 7 I don't know... interesting... I would love to have a machine working on Win7 and not to worry about Win10 background updates but I will keep it from connection to the internet for now.

I think that it was a network card (driver) issue.

I see the cables going from Ox to the motor drivers, but I cannot see the 5V0 or 5V+ to go there. Maybe, the photo was taken before those pins were wired. :)

About Win10. All my PCs run Win10 with no problems with UCCNC. (3 laptops and a tablet.) They are all connected to the internet too. When I start the PC, then first I let it update while I set up the job. I think that the only problem is when your PC is away from the internet for weeks or more: then it takes a long time to update. However, I excluded the UCCNC folder in the Defender to speed up the macro compilations and screen loading.

@dezsoe, hehe yes 5V0 is going to drivers no problems here. :D

Yes, it seems Win7 Network driver problems, but I installed the last version from Lenovo web, interesting.

It seems I just had bad luck with this Windows 10 updating in the middle of machining... and even after updates PC restarted and I got an error "error loading operating system"...I freaked out :D... I decided to replace HDD too so I bought 120GB SSD and reinstalled to WIn7 first where it had network problems with communicating with AXBB-e... then later to Win10 where everything is ok for now, and PC is so much faster on this SSD... maybe the old HDD had bad sectors too who knows... but for now I will stick to Win10 and disabled WiFI...
