I am curious about the promo with purchase of the uc300eth. Does this only apply to direct purchase or also through distributors?

Please explain what do you mean by that?

For example sending in my eth 400 and in return get a discount for the eth300 with of course updating my license to the new hardware.

I suppose that since the software license is tied to the hardware you could possibly sell the old hardware along with the license. I am not sure if the terms of service for the software allows that but it would make sense if you can't use the software with a different board serial number.

I'm sure that CNC Drive does not one to be in the business of selling used boards.
If the license allows for it, the best option would be to sell your current board and license, and buy a new UC300ETH while the license is still free. You should be able to end up with the new board for near $0 cost.

Yes, Gerry is right, we do not plan on exchanging used boards to new ones, because then we could only sell the used one on the second hand market which is an unwanted task for us.
And that is also correct that the license keys are tied to the serial numbers of the motion controllers, so the license key should be then sold together with the device ... it is allowed, we do not make a problem out of it if the license key is not on your name (if you bought it second hand), it does not break our terms of service for the software.

And currently we give free UCCNC license keys with the UC300ETH controllers in the new product promotion sales, so basicly you only have to buy the UC300ETH hardware, the software you get free if you will buy the hardware before the 15.10.2016.
