Laser pin not working correctly on 1.2117

Postby iOne » Sun Aug 04, 2024 5:45 am

Hi CNCdrive,

I was wondering if you can confirm if anything has been changed for the laser pin/output since version 1.2116. Fill burn (overscanning) is no longer possible on both versions (1.2116 & 1.2117) using the LightBurn plugin. Only lines are possible and the laser sounds like misfiring.

Version 1.2115 is working fine for me on the AXBB-E board.

Also, switching between versions 1.2115 and version 1.2117 requires a firmware update every time when switching in both directions?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Are you talking about the laser plugin of the UCCNC or the using M10/M11 from g-code.
There was an extra function added to the laser plugin of the UCCNC to scan in one direction only for the picture engraving.
Other than that nothing was changed for the laser output.
Can you please post your settings and an example file which causes the issue and also please give some clear explanation of the issue.

Hi,

Thank you for replying. I use LightBurn to get the g-code and I load it into UCCNC with the LightBurn Loader Plugin. As you can see in the photo below only lines can be produced with version 1.2117 (no fill - scan). I am unsure if it is a g-code translation problem or the port is not fast enough to turn on-off during the scan. The same g-code translated with the LightBurn Loader Plugin works fine in version 1.2115. I am attaching a few images with my settings and viewer of the file to see if you can detect the problem.

I am also attaching the g-codes if that helps...

Thank you. Is this a plugin issue or something to be fixed in future 1.2118?

No, its not plugin issue, but something with the path optimiser incorrectly optimising out the laser switching codes.
We working on fixing it and will release 1.2118 soon.
Our plan is to get a zero bug version out asap and put it in official release.
So now we not adding new features, just fixing bugs and working on new hardware (breakout board and motherboard and motion controller) development.

Hi, also experiencing the same issue reported.
But that appears to be my only negative finding with V1.2117.
Any timing for this fix with the 1.2118 release?

Thanks
