Port 1 O15 display

Postby Nealeb » Tue May 10, 2022 6:32 pm

I have two copies of UCCNC on different machines - 2111 (existing0 and 2113 (which I am currently installing/configuring). I am confused about the labelling of Port 1 O15 on screen on 2113 as it is marked as "output" but Port 1 I15 is an input on 2111. The manual says that this is an input. The 2113 LED shows as red when the input is active, not green.

Is this just an screen display error, or have I misunderstood something?

Thanks,
Nealeb

I believe it's just a screen error.

Thanks, Gerry - I've now come to the same conclusion having checked the UCBB board and watched the LEDs! Strange error, and I was surprised that I couldn't find a reference to it when I did a quick forum search. "Fixed in next release", I expect!

It's worse on the UC300eth.
Ports 1,4&5 have it wrong.
Still works as input but listed as out.
Stupid interface mistake.

I am driving the UCBB from a UC300ETH but I wasn't sure how much of the interface varied between motion controllers in the range. I suspect that this is a "problem" that doesn't show up very often, if people notice it at all, as you are only likely to see it if you use that particular pin. In my case, I was replacing a different motion controller and had to move the connections across, and that's the pin that the wire happened to reach conveniently! I was aware that the problem might also exist on the other ports you mention but didn't bother to check details as I was working solely through the UCBB and not using ports 3/4/5. I'm not losing sleep over it and I expect it will go on the bug-fix list for a future release - can't be difficult to fix in the software!

It's easy to spot in the diagnostics page.
