Losing Work position

Postby b57378 » Wed Nov 11, 2020 4:32 pm

Hi all, just a quick one.

Running uccnc version 1.2112 and occasionally I'll lose my g54 work coordinates when referencing a second time.

- for example, I reference my machine, jog to my part and zero while using G54, then just for example say I put in the wrong cut depth and lose steps,

I go to re-reference the machine to get back to my true G54 work coordinates but for some reason It randomly loses this position.

I've noticed this happening before, is this a known issue with 1.2112?

No, nobody reported anything like that with the mentioned version.
I think your steppers probably loosing steps and I don't think it is anything to do with the G54 coordinate system.
I would try to lower the acceleration of the axes which loosing the steps and also maybe the velocity is too high for the motors to reliably drive your axis.
Or maybe there is a mechanical problem at some point of your driving mechanism, I mean this is another possiblity for such problem.

Thanks for the feedback, like I've mentioned the only time it will happen is if I reference for a second time, the work coordinate (g54) actually shifts to coordinates different to that of the part zero.

If I've homed the machine and then go to my work zero(g54) and switch to machine coordinates, those coordinates will actually shift to something else if I home the machine again, even though the part is zeroed in g54.

Please, upload your profile. Maybe, there's some bad setting. (I think of the Auto set checkbox at the homing.)
