I also get a soft limit notice on my Z even when I'm no where close to the limit.
Machine is homed every time I start it up, Auto Set is checked and the soft limits coordinates are 100% correct.
It seems to be related to when I use the UCR201 to jog the Z axis.

I would say that it is impossible that you getting an error like that if the softlimits are disabled.
And softlimits have nothing to do with limit switches, they are software programmed setable coordinates range in which you allowing the machine axis to move inside, in other words you defining coordinates boundaries for the axes and if the axes trying to move over those then you getting the softlimit error.

The only thing that I can think of changing on my system is the UC100. I did not have this problem with the last one. I think I can find the serial number if you think it would be of value looking at. Let me know

If you think it is impossible to have a softlimit error please explain the screenshoot from my previous posting circling the softlimit reached when I am in the middle of my machine bed.
Thanks

I could not reproduce the problem at all, so I don't know why is it happening at you and what to do about it.
I also check the softlimits code in the UCCNC and I see no reason or possibility for this to happen.
Also nobody else reported anything like this.
So, I don't know what to advice you. :(
