I have been experiencing the exact same issue. Disabling homing backoff won't work for me since I have the X and Z axis tied to the Y axis homing input (Slave axis is on seperate input). I Don't understand why this has not been addressed and solved yet - the issue was fist raised almost 2 years ago and seems like a small bug in the software.
