UC400ETH + Mach3: spindle direction won't reverse

Hello,
We have recently upgraded our CNC router from a UC100 USB controller to a UC400ETH. The reason for this is we found that the UC100 would intermittently disconnect, suspected USB issues. We are running Mach 3, and directly connecting the UC400ETH to the computer using a network cable.
We have been able to successfully switch from the UC100 to the UC400ETH, and it is generally working successfully. However, we have some combined threading/drilling/chamfer tools that require a CCW spindle, and despite this working on the UC100, it does not work with the new controller.
We have set up Port 1, output #16 to control the direction on the spindle VFD. With the UC100, M3 then ran the spindle CW, and M4 CCW.
However, with the UC400ETH it is not changing the output of #16 in response from a M4 macro. A hack is to change the Dir LowActive from true to false on the Motor Outputs tab in Ports and Pins, so it is able to toggle this output. The M4 macro is correctly set up in the profile (it calls the CCW spindle function).
Help with this would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Aaron
