Mach4/ AXBB-E Input debouncing

Postby GeorgS » Thu Dec 09, 2021 12:33 pm

Hi there,

is there a possibility do debounce the inputs of AXBB-E in Mach4?
I can't home or tool zero properly. Same machine in UCCNC works fine after debouncing 20ms.

I changed the Switch wiring so they are now NC. Now it works in general. But as Mach4 after triggering the home switch moves the axis back until the switch opens ( in my case closes) again, it leads to low homing accuracy.
in diagnostics, when manually pressing and holding pressed one of the home switches, you can see the control light flickering every let's say 2-3 seconds.
AS the AXBB-E plugin dies not offer a debounce setting, perhaps there is a way to include it into homing script?

No, this functionality is not implemented in our MAch4 plugin yet, so you could only physically debounce (filter) the input signal.
E.g. with a resistor + capacitor low pass filter on the input.
But I will tell my collegue that there is a request for this function in the Mach4 plugin, so we can implement it in the next release.

Thanks! just added a 0.1 uf capacitor to the inputs on axbb-e ant now it works without software debouncing, even in uccnc.
