Motion controller issues

Postby Creativecnc » Sat Nov 20, 2021 12:46 am

After buying your uc100 and downloading software for it I have no movement yet. I'm using windows 10 64 bit laptop mach 3 with a g540 driver. When I open mach 3 I see the uc100 motion controller. I select it but no movement. I have went thru set up of ports and pins several times. I've used mach2 and 3 before but I always used a computer with a parallel port. I tried doing a driver test from the mach3 folder and it responds "no driver sensed installed". Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi,

The driver test of Mach3 works only with the parallel port.

My advice is to verify the ports and pins settings, you have to set port 1. for all I/Os when using the UC100.
Also open the UC100 plugin in the Mach3/Plugins menu and set the kernel frequency on that page from the default 100kHz to 25kHz only, because maybe the issue is that your drives can't read that high step frequency.

Thanks I've tried this and still no movement. My dros are moving but no actual movement. When I look at my uc100 in/out monitor it shows out 2 and output 3 going high depending on x +/- however no movemnt.

If the blue LED o nthe UC100 is on and if the DROs show movement then the UC100 generating the step dir signals on the setup step/dir pins, this is 100% sure.
So, then you should check/verify your connections.
