is it there a way to try the UCCNC in demo mode with real hardware? I have an AXBB-E that I'm using with Mach3, but would like to make some test before buying the new software.
Nothing like a "5 minute full feature" demo mode?

No, it is not possible.
UCCNC in demo mode does not connect to the motion controller at all, in demo mode it emulates everything on the computer.
How the UCCNC licensing works you can read under point 1.6 of the UCCNC users manual.

UCCNC does offer a demo mode, but it does not allow real hardware control, only software simulation. Unfortunately, there is no 5-minute full-feature trial that enables actual machine operation.
