Screwy, non-critical screen glitch

Postby bhdavis » Thu Jul 25, 2024 6:29 pm

I just finished my screen edit for the Ver. 1.2113 upgrade. Came out quite nice with buttons for each tool number as well as buttons to raise and lower the dust skirt and other operational items and processes. I'm very satisfied with the results.

I have one screwy thing happening though. I've backed up the entire UCCNC folder from the CNC computer to my desk computer. Thinking it would be nice to make future edits to the screen in demo mode at the desk I started Ver. 1.2113 at my desk PC.

It started up just fine in default mode. Next step was to change the profile over to my personal BHD3 profile I'm using on Ver. 1.2113. Screen came up blank white. I've also tried starting UCCNC with my profile by using the /p BHD3 switch on the desktop icon. It still comes up with a blank white screen.

If I edit the BHD3.pro file so that mainscreenfilename=Default2019 then I can run the BHD3 profile. But not with my background1 screen or my buttons etc.

As I said all is fine on the CNC. It's only the backup copy running in Demo mode on my desk computer that is doing this. My Ver. 1.2111 BHD2 profile works just fine in this situation.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
BH

When you run in demo mode, you need to make sure you run select the correct motion controller when it starts. There are separate screens for each controller.

I just tried to start in Demo mode on the CNC computer and the same thing happened.

When I start in Demo mode I always choose: Demo_UC300ETH_5LPT as I have a 300ETH C76 control card.

Do you mean that the Demo mode won't work with a custom profile in Ver. 1.20113? It did in Ver. 1.2111.

I can attach my custom profile files here if you would like. Or I can post this on the report problems forum.

As I mentioned it starts in Demo mode just fine with the DEFAULT profile. Just not with my custom profile.

Thanks,
BH

Well, well, got it to work. I tried each of the 300ETH options and finally UC300ETH_M45 worked.

Thanks Gerry.........you're the man !!!

Drats.....can that "works perfect" comment above. I posted that after trying it in Demo mode and before putting it on the CNC.

What you gave me was basically calling for a tool change from one bit to another. I already have that covered with my individual buttons as you'll see in the attached screen shot.

What I need is to rename a tool that is already in the spindle.

Say for example I'm doing some alignment testing on the tool rack. I might have T3 in the spindle but my open holder is T1 and I want the tool in the spindle to be renamed T1.

What I would type in the MDI is: M61 T1

That would change the tool recorded in UCCNC from T3 to T1.

Or if I had no tool in the spindle but T1 etc was recorded in UCCNC, then typing: M61 T0 would change the recorded tool to T0.

So instead of having to type M61 T# I could just push the screen button and it would ask me for the number.

Thanks Gerry,
BH
