Open UCCNC and got to configuration/General settings and make sure Constant velocity mode is checked and also make sure the "Stop at Angles > " is set to 89.

will the accuracy of my parts suffer by switching to constant velocity?

No. Not at all. This is how I have my software set and I don't have any issues.

Depending on how your circles are programmed, you may need to increase the error tolerance settings.
Increasing acceleration can also help.

Thanks. In your opinion what are some safe starting points for acceleration considering that I'm using an older machine with stepper motors and ball screw drives

Also my circles are programmed by vectric vcarve pro

Ok so I switched to CV mode, and everything seems to be working fine, but my arcs look like a series of straight lines. How do I increase the resolution of my arcs. I am perfectly fine with it moving slower through the arc.

What are your CV settings set to?

in vectric. select the vector curve and use convert to curves function.
set a tolerance of eg 0.2mm and preview it.
if happy save it.
recalculate the toolpath and save code.

this will make your code output much smoother!
