Mill and Laser

Postby CADdy » Sun Mar 12, 2023 10:00 am

Hi all,

I am using UCCNC with a UC400ETH controller for my milling machine. I am currently setting up a CO2 laser unit and would like to use UCCNC and a UC400ETH controller for that as well. How does this work best installation wise? I imagine two independent software installations in different directories with the respective license file. Would this be ok?

Just create a new profile. There's no reason to run a different copy of UCCNC, the profile has all the settings you need.

Thank you dezsoe for your info. That means, I will copy both license files into C:\UCCNC and start UCCNC with different profiles.

How does UCCNC know which controller is the right one? I can't find any relationship to the controller in the profile.pro. Is it possible to add a parameter (IP-address, serialnumber, etc.)?

Yes, it's in the manual. :) Create a shortcut on your desktop. (Rigth click UCCNC.exe, send to, desktop.) Rename the shortcut as you need. Now right click the shortcut, select properties. Go to the end of the line, after e.g. C:\UCCNC\UCCNC.exe and change to "C:\UCCNC\UCCNC.exe /p yourprofilename /s serial", without quotes, but spaces between the switches and their parameters. This will start UCCNC with the given profile and serial number.
