Moving software to new computer

We have been using UCCNC version 1.1012 for about three years with our Stepcraft CNC router but the laptop we use it with has become unreliable so we decided to get a new one. We downloaded version 1.2113 and assumed all we would have to do is move the license file to the new machine, as the original instructions we followed when the machine was new was to put the license file in the UCCNC directory and it would automatically recognise it.
Unfortunately it still comes up in demo mode. Can someone explain what we are doing wrong. - Dave

If you have a USB motion controller then check Device manager if the controller is installed properly. If you have an Ethernet device then you have to set up the network card on the new PC or change the network settings in the controller to match your PC.

You say you are using a new computer. By chance are you running windows 11? if so here is a thread that talks about security issues and how to get around them.

I know the os is the above post is windows 10 but the same solution should work.

No need to do any magic. Win 11 works with the 1.2113 drivers, and the OP has the motion controller working, see 2 posts ago.

The Op says it's in demo mode.
I had the same happen to me and I had to do what is described in the post I provided.

And yes, it's in demo mode, that's why I asked for the exact error message. But the controller is working, so there's no need to hack the Windows, it will not change anything.
