Limit switch setup

Postby DavidR8 » Mon Feb 28, 2022 10:44 pm

I'm really struggling to set up my limit switches.
I thought I'd start with Z as there's only one switch.
All my switches are NPN inductive

I have the + from the switch going to 24v+ then onto I1+
I have the - from the switch going to DC 0
I have the black sig from the switch going to I1-

On the config screen I set:
Limit - Pin to 2, Port 2
Limit + Pin to 1, Port 2

When I come up to the limit switch it works as expected except that I cannot move away from the switch unless I override limits.
When backed away from the switch, the software still thinks the Z limit is triggered.
Even when I disconnect all the switch wiring and restart the board and software the board still thinks the Z limit is active.

To clear the condition I have to change the limit pins and ports back to 0.
What am I doing wrong?

I figured it out Let's call it user error :)
I didn't know that only one pin needs to be set in config.
