Varying Movement Speed

Postby Mr.Hotwire » Wed Jun 09, 2021 6:47 pm

Good day!

I am at the point at which I am making movements with my Plasma. I have all of the axis's homing successfully, and the soft limits are also working correctly. I am ready to make some "Rapid" movements to test / set my acceleration and maximum speeds. I however cannot get the machine to move more then a craw. I have tried the pop-out controls on screen, the keyboard, and the handheld unit. Is there a setting I am missing that allows for a ramp up and down of speeds during manual long moves? is that a macro? or is this a one speed only situation?

Thank you in advance

it's probably the jog % which by default is set low.

it is located on the popout tab.

you can also type into the MDI motion, such as
G0 X10 (and it will rapid to X10)

Also, while using the keyboard for jog, you can press the Shift button and the machine will move at a speed of 100%.

I have tried the Jog %, as well as Jog distance. The % makes a difference, but its still VERY VERY slow.

Me being in Canuckistan, I run in MM. Should I join the dark side and move to inch? I don't think THAT would make much of a difference as its all relational to the "Units".

What are your motor tuning settings for acceleration and velocity?
