Closed Laptop

Hello.
I have a small HP laptop at my machine.
Many times, I run many repetitions of the same file.
I have an external button for the Cycle Start.
So all the operator does is load a part, press start and repeat.
The open laptop is subjected to dust and debris unnecessarily during these long production runs.
Of course, if I close the laptop lid, it goes to sleep .... or whatever it does, and the SW stops.
I could build something over it, or just cover it with polyethylene sheathing but am wondering .......
Is there a way to allow, or force the laptop to continue running even when the lid is closed ?
Thanks,
:)

Azuming that you use Windows. Go to the control panel, Power Settings, change theme, set Do Nothing when Closing Lid.

All laptops I had since 1995 had settings for that. All my laptops were HP. Doesn't matter if you run Windows or Linux there is a setting for that.

I see it now, one more click under Advanced settings. I was close, just didn't go far enough.
