Uccnc running sluggish

Postby b57378 » Thu Apr 15, 2021 3:48 pm

Hi all, just a quick question.

I am running Uccnc version 2.111 on a Minix neo computer.

When I load an average size g-code file , when jogging the machine I can see the DRO lagging.

But the bigger problem is when I run the ATC it will slightly mess up the timing of the solenoid firing which will cause the tool to knock while clamping(All air pressures are regulated correctly) - if I change tools before loading an average sized file it will run perfectly and the DRO will not hang up.

I'm just a bit confused as this PC is slightly above Uccnc recommended specs I would think it would run files larger than what I am running.

The file I'm running was toolpathed in Vectric Aspire using the Uccnc ATC PP. It is a simple profile cut of 300mm x 150mm work area with about 25 peck drills doing a pass of 0.5mm.

So maybe this is a bit more than my PC can handle?

Any suggestions will be appreciated thanks!

There are many types of Minix Neo, so I cannot check yours. I suppose that the video system is underpowered. Try to disable the toolpath (Settings/Appearance). If it runs fine then your video is weak.

Hi, thank you for the feedback, the model I have is the minix neo z83-4.

I will give that a go, didn't think of that

Also would pre compiling the macros help with performance when running the Atc m6?

Not really. It takes a lot of time on startup, however every macro is compiled only once when first called.
