Laser Question

Postby naijin » Thu Nov 19, 2020 3:59 am

I have installed my laser on my home made cnc router, it seems to be working o.k but I get lines from when the laser fires and finishes it seem to dribble a bit, I am using V Carve Pro
and Tweakie.cnc post processor, AXBB-E controller, if anyone has any ideas or knows what is happening I would be more than glad to hear about it, I shall try and attach a couple of
photos.

Looks like your laser is not switching OFF. Could you perhaps attach the Gcode file you are using.

Your Gcode file runs just fine here so the problem lies with your actual laser switching.

Hi Nick,

Your g-code is good. How did you configure the laser output? Watching your results I think that you have configured the laser to the M3 output and not the laser output. Or another possibility is that your laser turns off slowly. On the first move it's off, but all other times it's on, even if the code turns it off. So, there's something with your hardware, not with UCCNC.

Hi Dezsoe, I looked in the manual and there is no reference on how to evoke M10.1 and M11.1 for laser set up, the macros m10.1 and 11.1 do not appear in my macro folder on my machine, do I import them or copy from somewhere?, I am using the latest version of UCCNC, how to configure the M10.1 codes is not very clear in the manual ( I may have missed it )

Hi Nick,

Forget the M10.1 & M11.1

Connect your laser trigger to the Port & Pin you have specified as the Laser Pin.

Hi Tweakie, I have the laser connected to pin 17 port one on the AXBB controller and that's the result I seem to get, ( the photo above) the laser turns on when I run the g code but doesn't want to turn off, when I run the laserengrave plug in UCCNC
it turns on and off very fast when burning a jpeg image, just seems like the pwm does not apply when I run g code from V Carve Pro. Still it's Sunday tomorrow so I will have the whole day to play around. :D :D

Cheers

Hi NIck,

Could you also upload your profile (.pro)?

So, if I understand, the laserengrave makes a good picture, but the uploaded g-code fails. The g-code is good: Tweakie tried it. I also checked with my program, which shows orange where the laser is on. It's a mistery...
