Need came up for cutting 1" plate and had to drive head first in to cnc plama cutting.

This is my first plasma experiment so put the test setup on my 4x8 foot thermwood router that was converted for
steel drilling, milling, and tapping with uccnc.

First started with a Powermax 85 plasma and since it can't pierce 1" need to pre drill start holes, here is video:

Here is plasma cutting holes in plate, there is a removable water tub on thermwood table.
Can also see the floating torch holder with break away magnets. The float has proximity sensor
and break away has proximity to stop machine it torch hits material. The hand torch was converted to machine
torch by swapping pins in the quick torch connect at the power source and trigger is zip tied. So now when a normal
hand torch is plugged in powermax switches to manual operation:

Basically amazing results for what we do. THC was very simple connect and works like it should.

Here is better view of MaxPro torch setup and cut. Torch also held by 3 round magnets centered by the aluminum sheet metal with hole diameter to fit the OD of the 3 magnets around aluminum round torch holder.
Prox sensor to detect if torch magnets break away and prox for floating material surface sensing. Simple setup and works perfect.
