I setup probe today , followed a nice youtube tutorial. First time after settng it all up the z-axis went down, but i didnt have the clip attached to my probe. Superdumb i know in my previous setup i had the wire connected to the spindle so i could never forget.
Any how all tries after that , including computer, restarting UCCNC etc. all result in UCCNC not wanting to probe anymore.
I just moves a little (although retract and fine speed and normal speed are set) and says:
Probe stopped Probe triggered in Safe mode Warning! Tool length offset is set, but not to the current tool.
I was this close to make it work, but now it doesn't seem to go, first try i followed instructions and the probe went the right direction.... Hope someone can help. must be doing something wrong.
Yes i have checked that. When i put the "puck" against the bit in the spindle the I3 and Probe light come on in diagnostics. When i stop touching the 2 together immediately the light goes off and stays off. The first time (when it was all virgin installation and not having probed before) it went in the correct direction. But since i didn't have the clip on it didn't stop so i hit the e-Stop. After that it's doing nothing and if i use the probe function from the RUN screen, it slowly goes up 2mm and then shoots up like 25mm really really fast... If i use the probe menu from tools->Probe then it just barely moves (0.001mm) or nothing happens and then immediately says that the toollength is wrong...
You get the "Probe triggered in safe probe mode" message if you make a movement in safe probe mode and the probe contacts. The probe screen makes all movements in safe probe mode to prevent probe collision.
The other message ("Warning! Tool length offset is set, but not to the current tool.") is displayed when you start a probing sequence and the selected tool is not the same as the tool selected by tool lenght offset: e.g. you have M6 T1 and G43 H2, where the selected tool is #1 and the #2 offset is applied on it.
Please, write the whole process you do, every step. And also, please, upload your profile (.pro) file so I can check your probe settings.
Hi I have made a movie which i am uploading to youtube (see below) Profile attached to this post. Safe mode probing was off and it stops telling it hit a probe, while the puck was like 8mm below the bit.
To see if it was just 1.2111 acting up I downloaded 1.2113 and also probe didn't move down.
What i do (i followed a Youtube tutorial): I home the machine Then i move the machine to a place i like on the bed, move the Z down until it is like 8mm above the puck (i tried 3,5,10 mm) I put alligator clip leads on drill bit I go to diagnostics I move puck up to make contact with bit, Light I3 and Probe light up, so my circuit is working.
I fill in fine 1, retract 10, fast 100, slow 30 I fill in -30 at P1 (if i leave at zero i get message P1 cannot be 0), i also tried -15, 1, 15 no difference I move puck up once again and i see the probing light come on, so i feel i am close, but am i lucky ?
I click Start Probing, you see the axis move a tiny tiny amount and then stops and says: OK probe finished. Probe in Z, Probe in positive directorion, probe in negative direction. I get all kinds of messages, but the probe doesn't continue to move down to hit the puck.
The first time i did this i forgot the red alligator clip and THEN it went down, after that never again, even with a brandnew install of test version 1.2113 in a completely other directory C:\UCCNC2 and setting up the whole thing again, it didn't work. I Know i must do something wrong, but i have done the same thing with a Smoothstepper and Mach3 and that worked, and i could swap tools between roughing and finishing phase. Now i just want it to work on AXBB-e, without this working, i cannot use the machine.
Thank you. Your settings are OK. There must be something what we don't see. Could you do the following test: with your clips on go to diagnostics page and watch the probe LED while you jog the Z up and down. The only thing I can imagine now is that when you move the Z there are some spikes on the probe input. (Later I can test your settings on a machine, but now I'm away from it.)

See above. Tested, the probe light doesn't come on. I can home machine all axis, i can move machine. Very interested to learn what i did wrong ? Remember the very very first time, it went down, but then i didn't have the lead on so i had to hit estop. After that i refuses to go down, while i can move the axis up and down.... Maybe stopping it using the round button messed something up ? But if you say my probe settings are correct, i don't know what else to check.
In the end it turned out to be i had 12V connected to the "puck" and the wire leading to the input of the AXBB-e on the spindle. Probably lots of noise is picked up this way, because when i started probing it immediately said: Probe found! And stopped. When i put 12V on the spindle and the wire leading to the controller on the puck it worked.
