ATC

Just curious if anyone has seen or created anything like this for UCCNC? Working on an ATC project and haven't seen a lot already made up for UCCNC. I figured as popular as UCCNC is, there has to be some folks doing something similar already.

Thanks,
Jasen

Thank you. Appreciate the info. Unfortunately it seems every time I use the forum's search engine, it states ignored, word too common....argh. It's made finding things more difficult.

It's like now, I'm trying to understand fixed height tooling. I'm using Screenset 2017 and found a macro here to automate the tool offset table setup. But using a tool call in screenset isn't bringing up the correct offset. So guess you have to use MIDI to test the actual tool offset? Want to test before I run anything to avoid a crash. But searching has yielded little results for how fixed tooling is done. I've been so used to always doing the screenset tool change and probe after every change, not sure if I am getting how the tool table works...LOL. You would think it should be more simple. Just not 100% if I'm doing it right because I've yet to change a tool and have the correct Z value change.

Wow, that video is amazing. But it's way more complex that what I want or need. We are just planning on a carousel that rotates and slides into place, Z up, Z down. No more than about 6 tools as it's a small mill. I'll keep searching, but haven't really seen what I'm looking for other than the guy with Mach3.

Here is the setup I'm trying to make the ATC fit. Limited room, but thinking a 6 tool changer will work out. Hopefully that's the next project up on the list.

No problem with the building, just the custom screen and the macro I need to figure out. Figured if others had done it and are willing to share. I'm no coder, but can usually modify to get what I need.

Thanks,

As to the screen page it is really not needed as teh M6 macro runs the show.

Thank you so much.

So I get m6 runs the selection process, but how do you setup the initial tool to slot relationship and then change it as needed when you want to swap out a tool in the carousel? Seems like a screen with a table would facilitate doing that function easier. You could also add leds to the screen for troubleshooting as you could see things as they activate. Even use it for a manual change. Anyway, just thoughts of how it could be used.

Of course the macro is a fantastic start.

Thanks,
Jasen

If you want a fancy screen then that is on you to do.

AS to the swapping of tools IF you get teh rest running I will show you how to use everything inside of UCCNC to minipulate tools and slots. UCCNC needs to catch up with stable versions before I can show you how it is done.

Agreed and thanks. Sounds good. I didn't know there was a way to manipulate it from within UCCNC. I'm not using any of the beta releases since I'm using ScreenSet 2017. But if I need to move to a beta to do this, I can.

Nice. We are doing a slide over only and use the Z for insertion and removal.
