Aren't you going to try to get it replaced by the seller? After all, it wasn't properly packed, so it is their fault...

Unfortunately those Huanyang inverters do not talk Modbus, because the manufacturer did not implement the protocol properly.
You could make that kind of VFD to work only if you will write a plugin and add a COM object and send the bytes as in the VFD documentation.
It will not work with Modbus, because the VFD does not talk Modbus, just something similar. :(

no point- ive told him what was damaged (the 2 front covers smashed) . has promised to send me replacements.
(its a special vfd - single phase 220v in to 380v 3 phase out (not 220) 7.5kw !
i have 1 running my 9hp spindle on my machine- this one is to run my big hydrovane compressor

he is the only seller ive found in the world that i could order this off.
and il need more as and when i can afford them £400 each. sterling.

where in the UK are you? I'm game for a plugin.... but don't have a HY drive (never thought of running a hydrovane off one of them, 3ph ones being more cost effective than the single phase)

hi rob- im near cardiff.
i decided as these hy are chinese units id buy a spare for my hobby development machine- just in case.
just happens that my hydrovane has a 4kw 380v motor- not dual voltage- that i can use the "spare" for . (no 3 phase at my house)
the hydrovane is way quieter than my other bang bang compressors- which drive me nuts when running.
here is my development machine when i first got it going months ago-testing a vac pump, before adding the 9hp spindle etc.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8jixb2ax9Y

ive just added a energy monitor to see how many KW im dragging off my single phase supply. (should be interesting/scary)

i have been running a massive 55kw generator here to power up conversion machines in the past- trying to get away from doing this !

ive done a lot of conversions with mach3/ galil controllers etc- and had to write lots of code for them in the past.
my next project is to convert another biesse machining centre this time to uccnc. (using a galil and using the step/direction and gearing it to give an analogue output for the old analogue drives) - using modbus for all i/o .
i keep a facebook page updated with progress etc. join if your on it.
