Event handler - documentation

Postby Oursamiel » Thu Jul 18, 2024 8:49 pm

I’m looking for available documentation about « event handler ». Perhaps I’m not using the right words.

What I have in mind is to be able to register an external event that generates a « tailored soft stop » rather than a *E-stop ».

If an E-stop event is triggered UCCNC stops all movements, following an emergency. Depending on how the spindle is interfaced, it stops the spindle as well - or not.

What I have in mind is to be able to handle an event triggered by an external condition - for example an excess temperature in the spindle. Following the registered event, I’d like to run a set of command to place the machine in a safe state.

I thus need some sort of « event handler ».

Any reading to suggest ?

There is a Fault signals plugin which doing this.
You can attach conditions and signals to commands.
A command could a stop command, it is a soft stop with the axes stopping with decceleration and the Reset button does not activate.
