Z axis over extending on cycle start

Postby starclassic2013 » Mon Mar 07, 2022 7:04 am

Good evening,

I am new to CNC so please bare with me. I am having an issue with a file I’m running. When I cycle start it told me I was outside the scope of my soft limits. I disabled them and cycle started. Immediately upon running the program the z axis went up way to high to its upper limit and switches back to reset condition. I generate the g code on vcarve pro 11. I presume it’s a problem with my code and not uccnc but I can’t be sure. Any ideas would help. I’ve encountered what seems like 1000 problems since getting started, but I’ve slowly fixed them, and really feel I could get strokin if I get past this last issue. Thanks in advance.

Most likely an issue with your g-code. Can you post the first 25-50 lines of it?

Check your Material Setup in Vcarve.
The Z Gap above Material.
That value is how much the Z will move up from Z0
