What should I choose as probing method ?

Postby dhuvelle » Sun Jan 24, 2021 2:12 pm

Hi all,

I want to use several WCS on my machine. For example one for the works that I’m directly doing on the surface of the table (sacrificial board) and others that are located on vacpods (19mm above the table).

My probing setup is a fixed button switch on the table. It works but not as good as I would like it to be. For some reasons (that I can’t remember) I used to use the mobile probe function instead of the fixed one and I managed to make it works but I guess it’s not the best way to do it.

My goal is to be able to have multiples references for the probing depending on the WCS I’m working on (like explained before). For now the software is not able to remember that the WCS with the vacpods need to be 19mm higher. I’m a little lost with all this and I don’t really know what I should do or use. Offsets ? A different probe strategy ?

Can someone guide me and explain how he is doing the same thing ?

Thanks

Use the mobile probe option. The fixed is for future ATC support.

The probe screen cannot handle your configuration: you can offset a workpiece on the current or on all work offsets, but it cannot find out that on some of your work offsets you have different zero.
