Noob Question - Spindle starts when opening UCCNC

Postby Samarah » Tue Dec 15, 2020 7:46 pm

I recently moved from Mach 3 to UCCNC. I have a CNCRouterParts Pro with plug and play electronics. I'm using a UC300ETH motion controller. The transition went fairly well. Still figuring out some pendant issues. All in all, very happy with UCCNC. My biggest concern is every time I start UCCNC, the spindle starts for a few seconds then stops. Is this normal for this setup? If so, is there any way to avoid this other than turning the spindle off until after the software opens?

If you were using an ESS, the state of the pins when not controlled by the software are opposite the UC300ETH.
The best practice is to not power the machine up until UCCNC is running (The UC300ETH must be powered first, though).
Or make some changes to the wiring/relay so the spindle can not turn on without UCCNC control.

Thanks Gerry. I am moving from an ESS. Somewhat relieved it wasn't something I did wrong.
