how do I load a specific profile at startup

Newbie here with another stupid question.
I have a Stepcraft V1 420 and use UCCNC to control it. When I start UCCNC it loads the 'DEFAULT' profile and I want to use the Stepcraft V1 402.pro How can I do that ?? I have been trying all day but I still get the Default profile loading at start up.
Any help please.

Command line arguments can be used to influence how the software starts.
The arguments may be written to the shortcut icon properties target field after the path of the
UCCNC.exe file.
The available command line arguments are as follows:
– /n : Using this switch in the argument will only allow the software to start one instance. If
one instance is already running, the software will show an error message and will close.
– /p profilename : Using this switch forces the software to load a specific machine profile file.
– /s serialnumber : Using this switch forces the software to connect to a motion controller with
the specified serial number. If the motion controller is not connected (not available) or if it is
already in use then the software will show an error message and will close.
– /d devicetype : Using this switch forces the software to always run in demo mode only, no
matter if any motion controller devices are connected. The devicetype parameter can have
one of the following values:
UC100, UC300_5LPT, UC300_ISOBOB, UC300_M44, UC300_5441, UC300_HI,
UC300_LOW, UC300ETH_5LPT, UC300ETH_5441, UC300ETH_HI, UC300ETH_LOW,
UC300ETH_M44, UC300ETH_M45, UC300ETH_ISOBOB,
UC300ETH_UB1, UC400ETH, AXBB
And example for using the command line arguments:
C:/UCCNC/UCCNC.exe /p myprofile /s 60CC4D
This comamnd will load the myprofile profile file (myprofile.pro) and will connect only to the
device with the 60CC4D serial number.

As Laki wrote. Note that if you have space(s) in the profile name then you have to write it with quotes like C:\UCCNC.exe /p "Stepcraft V1 402"

Thanks for those replies. I have downloaded the Stepcraft Specific folder that holds the profiles that I want but it refuses to use them. Maybe I am doing something wrong ??

Can you see "Stepcraft V1 402" in the profiles tab? You should.
If you can't verify that the file "Stepcraft V1 402.pro" is in the UCCNC / Profiles folder?
Also in the same folder should be a "Macro Stepcraft V1 402" folder.
Then right-click on the desktop shortcut UCCNC, go to properties and under Target add \ UCCNC.exe / p "Stepcraft V1 402".

what EXACTLY is the profile name?

in the shortcut it is typed like this:

You "may" need to use underscores ( _ ) instead of SPACES

eg :

@laki, the Profiles tab shows all files for the profiles. When I load UCCNC from the desktop logo, it loads and on the bottom of the RUN screen it says Profile: STEPCRAFT_V2_ALL_Machines. When I go to Configuration > Profiles it shows a long list of profiles including the 'Stepcraft1_Model420'. I can select that file and click 'Load Profile' . A box appears that says "The selected profile contains a different screenset file, the application will now restart and load the new screen and new profile settings". When I click OK, UCCNC restarts with the Run screen that now says Profile:Stepcraft1_Model420 and there is a new Stepcraft logo in the top right of this screen in place of the UCCNC logo.
I have right clicked on Properties on the desktop icon and change the target as suggested and the programme now opens with the RUN screen showing Profile: Stepcraft1_Model420.
SUCCESS AT LAST. Thanks to everyone here for the help especially laki for his detailed explanation. I will be back with more problems pretty soon as I met some problems after starting up that last time, 'software limits' or something, but it has been a long day for me (I was 80 last year) so I will continue in the morning.
