An interesting point (maybe.... but maybe unrelated).
I have (2) gigabit Ethernet adaptors on my PC, and I use a router / switch to connect to UC300eth, UC400eth, Pokeys 57E, MESA 7i76E [The neuron THC is on it's own ethernet connection].
And I've assigned static IP addresses to all of devices in the same range of each other (10.10.10.1.... 10.10.10.2 ... etc) and I've also disabled IP6 given all the static IP addresses are IP4 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (I don't think any of the devices can use IP6) and I've also set my ethernet adapters to 100mbs instead of leaving them as AUTO because the switch / router was kindly setting them as 1gbs (1000mbs) and I was suffering from communications dropouts where uccnc would see the device and then loose communicartion with the device.
setting the adapter(s) to 100mbs / duplex solved this issue and all has been good.
Same applied to the neuron when the adapter was set to AUTO the PC could not find the neuron for whatever reason..... set is at 100mbs duplex and all is good.
