Index pin for spindle speed

Postby wright » Fri Aug 02, 2019 8:46 am

I have a AXBB-E and have it set up as a test system to make sure everything works before I install it and wire everything up permanently.

I have the axis working but only the X connected at the moment. It seems to work fine.

The spindle motor is a DC motor 180v and is controlled by a speed controller that accepts 0 to 5v signals to control the speed. This works using the Analogue output1 and I can set the speed with the S command.
I have a problem with the index pin for the spindle. I just cannot get the spindle index pin set to 14 which is what I was proposing to use. That is on port 2. It just switches to 0 even when pressing return and apply settings and save settings. I have tried various other pins without success. Does anyone know if there is a dedicated pin for indexing so the speed is displayed?
The motor has a 40 slot disc on it and I am using a C3 index board. I can see the UCCNC Diagnostics switch on and off pin 14. I can also see the LED on the C3 board and the AXBB-E light up as I turn the wheel. I have set the index prescaler to 40 which I understand is needed from the manual. I have tried setting the PID control to active, but that makes no difference in getting the pin 14 to display on screen.

I must have made some simple error, can you suggest what I might try? As I understand it the software will not allow an invalid pin and port to be used. I am not using pin 14 port 2 for anything else in the software. (version 1.2110)

On Port#2 where the input pins are, you have pins 1 to 6, no 14.

I think that the I4 (Input4) joked you. The outputs are labeled as Onn and the inputs are Inn.
