UC400ETH + UCSB + HY VFD

Hi all!

I was wondering if I can get some help connecting my actual setup. I used to have a RnR USB control board and recently bought a UC400ETH + UCSB combo but having some problems to connect it correcly to my HY VFD.
Here is what I have currently connected:

24V 10A PSU
Positive:

UC400ETH +
UCSB +
VFD VI

Common:

UC400ETH -
UCSB -
VFD ACM

I've read on another post that I should connect Output 14 on UCSB to VR(+10V) on my VFD, but I don't have any VR(+10V) on mine... have only a 10V but I think that outputs 10V, wich wouldn't be wise to connect to a UCSB Output (or so I think).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, better yet if anyone uses this setup and can provide the wiring diagram.

Are you trying to control the RPM with an analog 0-10V? Because you can't with what you have.

Please tell me you have NOT tried this yet/!!!.
DON'T.
You cannot do this with what you've got.
What you need is to buy a PWM to Analog 0-10V converter board.
You connect PWM side to Ucsb.
Then connect 0-10v side to the hy.

To add to my previous post.
Look for the board in my previous post image, it is available o Amazon.
It is 24v compatible via junper so you can use your existing 24v power supply.
PWM+ > 24V+
PWM- > UCSB output#
Analog AO > VI
Analog GND > ACM

Set spindle step to UCSB output# you've wired to PWM.
Enable spindle PWM. This should now run through the step output#, to the converter, then across to the 0-10v, then out to the hy VI.
(Do not assign an analog number to PWM) .

You still have 2nd port left empty for additional items by using this simple module.


There is another alternative too.
A cheap 5 axis DB25 board (connected via DB25-IDC26 cable to UC400eth on 2nd port if not using it).
This has a converter built into it on pin#1 that needs 24v to use it and the boards inputs.
This also gives you extra outputs for relays etc BUT: Outputs require 5v and can run 5v only such as 5v relays etc. You can get 5v from pc USB.

Thanks for your replies. @Dazp1976 I have one of those exact boards (the 2nd one you mentioned and posted pic) on my pile of cnc stuff, in fact that was the first controller I ever bought. Never used it as I moved immediately to the RnR USB wich I used for about a year or so until now the actual UC400ETH.
So far I only have the servos working properly and was going for the Spindle connection. I'm glad I waited for your reply before I did anything
