Power for AXBB

I just ordered an AXBB and I have a question about its power requirements.
In my current grblHAL setup, my stepper drivers are running off a 36v power supply and the grblHAL board has a 12v supply to power the inductive switches and VFD control.
I see that the AXBB has 5v and 24 v input. Looking at the sample wiring diagram on the CNC Drive site that the stepper drivers are powered by the 24v power supply.
Does this mean with the AXBB my steppers are limited to 24v or can I power them separately with my 36v supply?

Stepper power supply can be any voltage you want, as it does not connect to the AXBB-E.

Reading the AXBB manual it says on the top of pg. 29 that the second power supply has to have a voltage of 12 to 24 volts.
But the unit itself says 24v.
Looking for clarification because I already have a 12v power supply and don't want to buy a 24v supply if i don't need one.
Apologies if this is documented somewhere else.

You may use the 12V instead of 24V. It is labeled 24V because in most cases the control logic works with 24V.
