UCCNC 300ETH and network switch

Postby kucharzb » Sun Dec 12, 2021 7:09 am

Hello,

I am having the following problem. I have 2 devices in my control box / one is 300ETH board and one is LAN to RS485 converter. All connected to Switch Linksys LGS105 Gigabit switch.

UCCNC practically loses the connection all the time and wants to quit just after starting. Direct connection with the cable seems to have no problems. Is this a known problem? Any solution?

Connection is lost if the controller receives no data or bad data for some time.
So, the issue has to be with your connection ,maybe with your switch or it's settings.
Maybe there is an IP conflict in the settings or something like that.

well - I checked that few times. Switch is nonmanaged, so there are no settings. And there are only 3 devices in the network>
1)PC 10.10.10.1
2)UC 300ETH 10.10.10.10
3)LAN RS485 10.10.10.11

so seems to be everything ok... somebody has some idea about it?

Yes - i observed, that the Ethernet to RS485 is causing the problem, probably flooding all ports with traffic.. Unpluggin it solves the problem with UCCNC. I plugged in a standard Router AP from TP Link and it works. So I think this is the issue here. Anyway I will organise the Router instead of unmanaged switch and I hope it will work.
