Hello everybody,

newbie to the UCCNC Forum here :)

I just replaced the cheap china motion controller with 300ETH Model (with Breakout board, big model), so for so good / been able to turn on relays and servos. But I am a bit confused with Inverter connection. I was searching on the forum, but I didnt find defintiv answer...

Can someone take a look at my inverter and tell me, what would be the best option to control my spindle?

Here is the manual:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q ... n-AyrgzozA

Is the 10V control over the analog IDC16 connector the only option? or can I somehow use the Breakout Boards for that purpose? Or 10V control is not that great and I should consider RS485 / if so - will the Ethernet to RS485 work with UCCNC software?

Thank you for supporting!
Kris

I do not see the option to edit the post :(

I thought of two possibilities:
PIN D5 (digital input in the inverter) - but here somebody would need to confirm if it is possible to control it directly from the 300ETH board

OR

RS485 - Ive seen those dodgy USB to RS485 converters - I would love it use Ethernet instead due to different reasons - is somebody using this solution (LAN to RS485) - does it work properly? DO I need special plugin for that or the one for USB works as well? Some ideas?

Yes, using the 0-10V analog output of the UC300ETH-5LPT should work fine.
You could also use RS485 through USB or ethernet with a suitable adapter.
Both solutions should work, but in my opinion the simplest is the analog 0-10V signal as the UC300ETH already has that and then there is no need for extra hardware.

I decided to go for RS485/Modbus - and slowly got it running / at the moment with PC Modbus as Master, but I will try to configure the macro, so that it is all well integrated.

Hi, can you share your preview of the commands you used for communication via Modbus (RS485)?
Thanks a lot
