AXBB-E, iSV57T Servos and Wiring Alarm

Can please someone explain to me in layman's terms how alarm outputs on Stepperonline iSV57T servos are supposed to be connected to AXBB-E controller?

You can connect the ALM- to any isolated output of the AXBB-E and the ALM+ to +24Volts.

ALM+ and ALM- are outputs, so I assume you meant to say that I can connect ALM- to any isolated input on AXBB-E?

Sorry, you can connect the ALM- to the 24V0 ground and the ALM+ to Input- of the AXBB-E and Input+ to 24V.

Yes. And if you have a "good" type alarm output then you can chain your drivers: 24V+ - AXBB input+ - AXBB input- - Alm1+ - Alm1- - Alm2+ - Alm2- ... - 24V0 where Alm1 is driver1 output, Alm2 is driver2 output etc. There are 2 types of alarm outputs:

The "good" type: the output is on when the driver is ready. This means that if the driver is not powered or the driver is in an alarm condition then the output is off. You can chain the outputs and the whole circuit will show if all drivers are ready to work.

The "idiot" type: the output is on when the driver is in an alarm condition. You cannot chain the drivers and you cannot detect if a driver is not powered. I was sad to see that some new stepper drivers work this way.

By trying to understand the Chinglish manual I think you have the "good" type. :)

Thank you! And I assume it would make sense to assign "e-stop" function to the input?

No, I recommend using the Fault signals plugin. There may be a little delay after power up till all the outputs go active on the drivers. (Of course, if the drivers all always powered then you can use the e-stop input. My practice is to use the O1 charge pump output to turn on the power, but that's my way.)
