Switch from parallell port to UC300ETH

Hi,

I've been running my CNC with Mach3 for a while (with a direct parallell port connection to my BOB) but now I have bought a UC300ETH and also UCCNC. The problem is that I can't get it working, neither in UCCNC or in Mach3 with the plugin.
Inputs work but I cannot move the CNC. When I switch back to my old setup everything works fins so the BOB seems ok. So I suppose there might be some kind of simple mistake I've made.
I've tested bot LPT1 and LPT2 on the UC300ETH but with no difference - inputs work but not outputs, I've started thinking of if it's my BOB that don't work with the UC, I've attached a image of it below. I'm having a "straight" IDC -> DSUB25 cable between them.
Anyone having an idea what I've might down wrong?

You need to use either port 2 or port 3 on the UC300ETH.
Then make sure you have the correct port numbers entered in the software.

Hi,

thanks. I've tested with both port 2 & 3 switching port on the UC300ETH + changing in UCNCN) now but still cannot move anything.

When I'm looking in the I/O monitor menu in I can see the inputs and the stats when I trigger a limit switch for example. But I donated know if I'm supposed to see the status of the outputs? I can see that the DIR ports change status when I'm moving but nothing else. (the DIR ports seems to keep their status even after I've de-pressed the button on the keyboard).

I have another BOB but unfortunately it has a male DB25, and I don't have a IDC-DB25F or an DB25 gender-changer (suppose that should work as well?)

You cannot see the step signals on the I/O monitor, because those signals are short pulses, much shorter than the refresh rate of the monitor.
This means that something like 99.99% of the signal is in the inactive edge and 0.01% in the active edge, so you will not see those signals on the monitor.
You can use a logic analiser or an oscilloscope to see if the signal is there or not.

update - it works with another BOB. Maybe my initial BOB (the one on the picture above) isnät 100% compatible with the UC300ETH.

there is a known fault on those bobs they did something wrong years ago in the soldering somewhere I will try to find a post on it as I did consider using one of them years ago when I first started out in lieu of the other one with a relay on it
