UC300ETH-5LPT to UCSB

As in the title, I have a UCSB connected to my UC300ETH-5LPT and its been working fine for the past 2 years. Its time to rearrange the control cabinet and I've documented the wiring as I disasssembled it. I'm trying to make the wiring a little more efficient so I'm studying the UC300 and UCSB manuals AND I RAN ACROSS SOMETHING A LITTLE ODD. The UCSB is connected to Port 4 on the UC300ETH-5LPT. From studying the manuals, the UCSB is only meant to connect to Ports 1 and 2 as they are the only Standard LPT port on the UC300ETH-5LPT.

On the UCSB I'm using the following pins: IN10 thru IN12 for Prox Home Switches and Out14 for VFD RUN/STOP relay

On the UC300ETH-5LPT port 2 has a DB25 PCB BOB used for Step/Dir on 4 axis, simple E-stop switch, simple continuity touch probe, mister relay and a spindle light relay.

I'm not sure why or if I even had a good reason to connect the UCSB to Port 4 on the UC300ETH-5PLT but I wanted to check with you guys to see if there will be any issues with it wired this way.

Extra Notes: I think I wired Step/Dir to Port 2 a long long long time ago before I got the UCSB which is may be why they aren't wire to the UCSB - I'm going to wire them to the UCSB this time around.

What are the repurcussions of having the UCSB connected to Port 4 on the UC300ETH-5LPT instead of Port 2 or 3?

Port 2 and 3 are standard ports, as you write it later.

I think I wired Step/Dir to Port 2 a long long long time ago before I got the UCSB which is may be why they aren't wire to the UCSB - I'm going to wire them to the UCSB this time around.

If your motor drivers have optical isolation on their inputs then you don't need to change this configuration. But, if you change it then you have to connect the UCSB to one of the standard ports (2 or 3) to use the pins 2..8.

If you connect the UCSB ot port 1, 4 or 5 then you cannot use pins 2 to 8, because the UCSB wants to output signals from the UC300 and the UC300 wants to input signals fromt the UCSB, so these pins cannot be used.

I figured that pins 2 thru 8 wouldn't work the way I had it connected, since they are set as inputs on port 4 (not outputs that UCSB is setup for).
