I am wanting to disable an assigned limit input while my torch is probing.. is a macro the way to go or does someone have an easier solution?

You cannot disable a limit input while g-code is running. To disable a limit you have to press Apply or Save settings and that cannot be done while running a g-code. However, you may have a relay connected to an output which can phisically override the limit sensor and you can switch an output from g-code with a macro or if you have ethernet controller then you can use M10.x/M11.x.
