Happy holidays all (almost another year gone....)
Here is a font to Gcode engraving plugin I've been working on a bit for you all to play with and try. Its based on a 'font to gcode' source code I found and modified quite a bit.
Additions I've added from original code include:
-control of where the 'local origin' is relative to the text
-text can be left, centered, or right justified
-multi lines of text
-offset of local origin to position the text in work coordinates
-text is scaled to absolute height or width you enter (you select height or width as the sizing criteria)
-can send generated code direct to UCCNC, or save file, or copy to clipboard
You can select any font that is installed on your system, but they won't all necessarily work right (script fonts overlap, but are not 'joined' together as one might hope). You'll have to experiment.
right now it just generates standard mill code w/ a spindle. I'm not a plasma person, so don't know if it would be useful to anyone that does plasma. Let me know, it could be set it up to generate plasma code with some input from someone that shows interest.
regards,
Eric
