HB04 pendant

Hi all,

I have got a WHB04-L pendant which I'm hoping to use with UCCNC. I'm using the XHCHB04_pendant plugin and it all connects and works. However, the scaling of the pendant seems to be off somewhere as the step values do not correspond to the values on the dro. For example, if I'm set to.001, each increment will change by something like .0031 instead. I'm just wondering if I'm missing a setting or the pendant isn't fully supported by the plugin? Could it be a driver issue maybe?

Thanks,

The step what you set (e.g. 0.001) is what you want to step, but not always that your machine can step. The program can step only what the motor can step: divide your units with your steps/units settings and you get the smallest step that the motor can do.

E.g.: units are metric, steps/units = 200 means that the smallest step is 1/200 mm = 0.005 mm. Now I can try to step one times 0.001, but nothing will happen. If there are more small steps then the machine can round it to the next steppable value.

If you see 0.0031 then you may have 320 steps/units.

Thanks for the reply!

I understand what you mean. However, if I shift to 1.0 increments, the DRO will only move approx 0.72 with each increment, but its not totally consistent, this is in MPG continuous mode. In MPG Step mode the pendant does not update the DRO, the only thing that happens is for the first tick of the MPG the DTG (distance to go?) DRO will hold whatever increment is set 1.0, 0.1, 0.01, 0.001, but only the first count, it will then stop and reset has to be pressed to get any movement. So if I move the MPG 3 ticks for example, the DTG will only say 1.0000 and go no further.

Thanks,

Hi, yes I tried both of the plugins and my pendant won't connect at all, so unfortunately I think the plugin must only work for the newer type pendants.

Hi again,

I've done a bit more testing and it seems that my XHC WHB04-L pendant works correctly in the plasma profile in UCCNC, but not in the default or my custom profile... The problem seems to be with the MPG Step, and MPG Multi buttons, nothing happens with these apart from crashing the jog panel and a reset had to be cycled to be able to jog once again. Does anybody have any ideas what might be causing this please?

I'll try some more myself and update if I find anything else.

Thanks.

I have done a bit more testing and it appears that my XHC HB04 pendant will work when running the device using Demo_UC100, and Demo_UC400ETH fine with MPG Cont, Step and Multi working perfectly. However, if I load the software up to use Demo_AXBB, or with the physical AXBB attached, the pendant will not work with MPG Step or Multi. In the latter case if MPG Step or Multi are selected, the jog functions do not work until reset is pressed. If MPG Cont. is pressed, the pendant will work fine, but with it being continuous mode, the step increments are not accurate and do not provide exactly 0.01, 0.10, 1.00 for example, which I think is probably correct for the feature?

Has anyone else found this issue when using an AXBB or indeed using the Demo_AXBB with the XHC WHB04 / HB04 pendant?

Thanks,

Hi, this last info may be useful, but now tell me which version do you use and which screenset.
