A checkbox saying "Don't ask this question again"

Please add this option in all the question boxes questioning me if I really know what I am doing... :?:

It is a bit annoying that there is a huge pop-up message asking me if I am sure that I want to do this and that... like exiting UCCNC or saving changes and so on. There should be a checkbox which could say "Don't ask this question again". When ticked, the pop-up should NEVER pop up again, until the configuration is reset. I mean, I understand the philosophy, some people love that last straw, but some people hate it. Of course I want to exit UCCNC if I click on exit, or want to save changes if I click on "Save and exit" in G-code editor and so on..., and if I did click by mistake, then so be it, I'll learn to be more careful next time.

We thought about this already, what kept us implementing it is the experience with this kind of checkbox in Mach3.
I'm talking about the checkbox which asks you if you what motion controller you want to use and there is the "Don't ask again..." checkbox in the bottom of the page.
Well, I could not count how many calls and e-mails we received because of this checkbox.
Sometimes users ticked it once and later did did not remember it is there and did not know how to change the device from LPT port to UC100 etc. motion controllers.
Other times they ticked it, but could not figure out where and how to reset the setting.
Again other times they ported the .xml file and then they could not install a different type of motion controller, because the setting is stored in the .xml.

We could implement this the same way as it is in Mach3, but I'm afraid how many calls and e-mails we will get because of it.
For example we just added the Operator lock function and already got two customers asking us about it, because they locked the profile and forgot the password and did not know how to unlock it.
So, a setting which is handy for some people could cause real issues to others and therefor sometimes it is hard for us to decide if a suggested feature will be a benefit in general or the opposite.

I find it pretty annoying, and I am sure there are plenty others who agree with me.

Never the less, I understand your point, also the example regarding Mach3 (been there done that... ), but I think that the more sophisticated a software is the more there is a need for reducing the number of clicks for users. Yes, it may generate some support questions, but at the same time, it reduces other type of support questions, like this one. Also remember that when you implement a new feature, at the beginning the number of support questions will be higher than later. Just like my question about the start up screen size... we are beginners, while I am very manual oriented, and read basically everything, even I miss something some time, or just forget about it, so of course, some people will forget how to reset things back to basics... which calls for another check box, called:

"Reset behavior configuration checkboxes to default"

Checking this should reset some (or all) of the checkboxes related to appearance and some behavior, but not the configuration itself. It should not erase any data, just change the display configuration to the behavior you deliver the UCCNC with. Effective after the next restart of the UCCNC software.

Hopefully the forum will eventually lighten your support load. As more users gain more knowledge, they can answer a lot of the support questions here.
